Italian #menstyle Anyone?

Boggi Milano Menswear Spring Summer 2016

It's really hard to put one's finger on what it is about the way the most stylish of Italian men dress that sets them apart. They master the art of sprezzatura and these Pitti peacocks have changed the world of men's style immeasurably, with street style shots of men in Milan & Florence, looking dapper with nothing more at their disposal than great clothes and superb taste.

Although the Italian style wasn't one that triggers the inspiration for me to start dressing well a few years ago* (Chuck Bass was the source of inspiration for me, after I had 21 days of marathon watching back to back all 6 seasons of Gossip Girl in 2012 *haha), the Italian have definitely inspired me to dress even better. It's actually not really difficult to learn and be as stylish - start with learning the basic, rules of men's dressing, knowing your colours and identifying your personalities. Then the rest falls to design and quality. That, sets Boggi Milano apart from the rest. The leading menswear retailer from Italy brings you not only the Italian design and heritage, but its quality, exquisitely hand finished products are made from the finest Italian material.

Boggi Milano Has Landed In Kuala Lumpur

I had the pleasure to attend Suria KLCC-Boggi Milano Indulgence Evening for an exclusive preview of Boggi Milano Spring/Summer 2016 collection held at Marini Café, Suria KLCC last week. It seems that Boggi Milano had begun its operation of its first and the one and only store in Malaysia at Level 1, Suria KLCC in January this year.

The event were attended by mostly media friends, and according to Suria KLCC Press Release, "other guests present were Francis Tan-Chief Operating Officer of Suria KLCC, Paolo Selva-Director and Retail Development Manager of Boggi Milano, as well as Malaysian male fashion icons and instagrammers including Andre Amir (Oh wait, that's me!) and Brian See. The event was hosted by actor & TV host, Josiah Mizukami".

"Suria KLCC was the selected for Boggi Milano’s first store in Malaysia due to its strategic location at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre and impressive traffic footfall of over 40 million in a year."

Anyhow, let's get back to the collection. I was A-M-A-Z-E-D! Watching the handsome & dapper models came down one after another, had me whispering to my friend Shah, "I love that!... I want that!... This is real Italian!... That is so me!" It was love all around! Or as how the lady selling Italian shoes in Florence once taught me - Bellissimo!

Boggi Milano SS16

What makes Boggi Milano's collection perfect for Malaysian men, as it is for the Italian, is the hallmarks of comfortable, lightweight and exclusive materials. It is designed for a man’s multi-faceted daily routine offering accessible, timeless, and “transgenerational” menswear.

“RELOADED TAILORING” is the buzzword here, it redefines pure classicism by tailoring to men’s constant changing lifestyle needs, giving a new twist to styles and shapes. The collection merges classic garments and sartorial elegance with exceptional technical performance embodying a more casual look without losing the spirit of formal wear. With the combination of ultralight fabrics featuring micro-textures resulting in informal garments that bring style to leisure and travel.

Another thing to highlight is the feel of jacket and suit materials. Impalpable in the “WEIGHTLESS BEAUTY” line, as illustrated by the unstructured, lightweight, unlined jacket in linen and cotton with no trim or canvas, and the frosted jacket in ultralight garment-dyed wool with a vintage look conferred by a special dyeing technique, giving it a frost-like appearance. The theme continues with a surprisingly lightweight jacket, less than 250g, and the softest suede moccasins which can be folded up and put in your pocket.
